Meet the Family Behind Dead People’s Stuff

11 Sep 2025
by Sherry Viveros

When you step into Dead People’s Stuff Architectural Antiques, you’re not just walking into a shop full of history, you’re stepping into the heartbeat of our family. Every piece of salvaged wood, stained glass window, and antique treasure you see has passed through the hands of someone who truly loves what they do. Our shop is more than a business; it’s a family endeavor, stitched together with hard work, creativity, and a whole lot of laughter.

The Owners

At the helm of Dead People’s Stuff are my sister Marymar Fudge and her husband Curran, the visionaries who brought this dream to life. Curran, born and raised in Oklahoma City, brings a deep appreciation for local history and architecture, while Marymar, born and raised in San Diego like me, Erik and Rose, infuses the shop with her love for design, beauty, and storytelling through antiques. Together, they’re the reason this family venture exists.

The Team (a.k.a. Family!)

It really does take a village to run a place like this, and luckily our village is full of family:

Sherry, Me – I get to tell the stories as the e-commerce/ social media specialist, capturing the magic of our shop online and connecting our finds with people everywhere.

Erik (my husband) – The sales manager who makes sure our customers find exactly what they’re looking for, while also making everyone feel like part of the family

Rosalinda (my sister-in-law) –  The inventory and workshop manager, keeps track of the hundreds of unique pieces that flow through our doors. In the workshop, she oversees all the projects our clients hire us to do, guiding them from start to finish with care and attention to detail.

Manuel (my brother) – Our dedicated retail operations associate, who ensures the floor is always welcoming and customers get the help they need.

Alexi (our mom) – The quiet hero of the shop as our residential and commercial cleaner. She keeps our space looking beautiful so the antiques can truly shine.

Dave – Our honorary grandpa and shop manager, who also happens to be a gifted stained glass artist. His work adds a colorful, timeless touch to our shop.

Tio Frank – Our honorary uncle and property manager, always making sure the grounds and building are taken care of.

Why Family Matters

We often joke that this is a family-run shop through and through, but it’s true. Each of us brings something different to the table, whether it’s design, craftsmanship, organization, or simply the love of old things with stories to tell. And when you visit, you’re not just shopping, you’re meeting our family, sharing in our history, and becoming part of the bigger story we’re telling through these antiques.

So next time you stop by Dead People’s Stuff, know that behind every item you see, there’s a whole family working together, pouring our energy into keeping the past alive for the future.
